BRITISH CITIZENSHIP

There are 4 different options to gain british citizenchip:

Born in the United Kingdom
From 1st of January 1983, any individual born in the United Kingdom qualifies for British citizenship if their parents possess:
> British or European Citizenship
> Permanent Residence in the UK or without any restrictions on Immigration.

Register
To obtain British Citizenship it is crucial to have permanent residency in the United Kingdom for at least 5 years. During this time the applicantcannot have been absent from the country for more than 450 consecutive days or for a total of 90 days in the preceding year to the application.

Descendants
Individuals that had been born outside of the United Kingdom can qualify for British citizenship, as long one parent already possesses it.
However, , an individual that qualifies for citizenship through the descendants rule cannot use the same rule to gain citizenship for their children. It is necessary to prove the following: Children were registered up to a year after their birth;
> The father who possesses British citizenship for descendants acquired it from his father or mother, who also possesses the documentation for birth, naturalization or register; and
> The father who possesses British citizenship lived in the United Kingdom for three consecutive years, without leaving the Country for a specific period of time, during this stated period.

Naturalization
The conditions for classification to British citizenship for naturalization are defined in the British Nationality Act, of 1981, and are citizens to the analysis United Kingdom Border Agency, that it will evaluate all the evidences that a candidate fulfils with all the petitions.
Individuals eligible to apply for British citizenship for naturalization are:
  1. UK residents for more than 3 years, in a marriage or/and civil partnership  with a british citizen;
  2. UK residetns for more than 6 years , in a marriage or/and civil partnership  with a european union citizen
  3. UK residents for more than 5 years with work permit visa and prove of tax payer during this period; and
  4. Husband/Wife or civil partner of an individual assigned for the British government for services outside the United Kingdom.

Moreover, any individual that if applying to the British citizenship will have to prove:

- Over 18 years of age
- Good Mental health;
- No criminal records
- Enough knowledge of the language, as well as the history and culture of the United kingdom; and
- Intention to inhabit definitively in the Country.
